New Federal Privacy Law Poorly Enforced

A 2003 Federal Law designed to protect the privacy and medical records of patients is rarely enforced, according to an article in the Washington Post. Since its inception, 19,420 Grievances have been filed under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, yet no fines have been collected.
